Free Range British Bronze & White Turkey
Slow grown and allowed to roam freely in the meadows of Throncote Green ensures our Turkeys are moist and succulent. Our produce meets and vastly exceeds animal welfare standards, and choosing Franklins of Thorncote guarantees that it has been fed a natural traditional diet, bred for its natural flavour and is completely Free Range.
The meat of our Bronze Turkey is slightly darker in colour and has a more intense flavour than the White Turkey. When cooked, the meat also has a pinker colour.
As soon as they are old enough to be outside, our turkeys are allowed to roam free in the large outdoor paddock they call home. Reared on an all-natural diet, free from any antibiotics or additives, the birds boast a naturally tasty turkey flavour. They are slaughtered and processed on the farm, so there are no food-miles and no stress to the bird. They are hung for 2-3 weeks before eviscerating which gives them their delicious flavour, then they are dry plucked by hand.
